The Farm
We source our coffees from Asikana, a farm that supports over 500 farmers and their families on 200 hectares of land. Their natural-processed coffee is grown in Western Ethiopia at an altitude between 1,500 and 1,700 meters above sea level which is ideal for coffee production. With coffee cultivation being an integral part of rural life in this part of the world, we are proud to help support a farm that improves the living conditions of the people in this community.
Why Organic?
For the health of our fellow coffee-lovers and the environment, Mamo’s Market sources only 100% USDA certified organic coffees, grown without the use of pesticides or fertilizers. When we first started Mamo’s Market, we wanted to create a company that gave back to our community on a social, economic, and environmental level.
We source organic coffees, because we value the health of our customers and our community. The chemicals used in pesticides and fertilizers have negative effects on lakes, streams, wildlife, soil, and the human beings who grow coffee plants. By using sustainable methods, such as regenerative farming, our coffee growers are able to yield healthier, more fruitful coffee plants.
We appreciate you supporting our mission to provide high-quality, organic coffees. Your support not only benefits Mamo’s Market but also our coffee growers, community, and environment.
